Allotropic to build a business management system for Nick Aluminium and Glass Work

Allotropic Ltd has signed an agreement with Nick Aluminium and Glass Work to design and build a business management system for the company. The agreement was signed yesterday, and work begins this month.
Nick Aluminium and Glass Work fabricates and installs aluminium and glass products, including windows, doors, and shopfronts. Sales, purchasing, and stock have so far been tracked by hand, with no single record connecting a sale to the materials it used or the customer who placed it. Checking whether a job could be completed with materials on hand has meant a physical count in the workshop rather than a quick look at a screen. The new system brings these areas together, so the business can see stock, sales, and customer history from one place instead of three separate ones.
Scope
The system covers four core areas, plus a dashboard that ties them together.
- Sales management, so every customer order and quotation is recorded, invoiced, and tracked through to payment
- Procurement management, to record purchase orders and keep a history of pricing and supplier performance
- Customer management, holding contact details, order history, and outstanding balances for every customer in one place
- Inventory control, tracking stock of aluminium profiles, glass, and hardware, with automatic updates as materials are used
A dashboard sits above these four areas, giving a real time view of sales, spending, and stock value across the business. The agreement also includes a domain, hosting, and a professional email address under the company's own name, along with a print ready promotional poster for shop display. Access follows role: a store keeper works within inventory, a salesperson works within sales and customers, and the owner sees the full picture from one account.
Status
Design work is starting from the requirements agreed during scoping. The system's staff roles, product categories, and materials to track are being confirmed before development begins in earnest, alongside the wording and layout of the promotional poster.
Allotropic Ltd will publish an update once the system is live.
